A Neighborhood Tradition Since 1995
My venture all began in 1995 when I was moving to Pembroke, which I knew nothing about. I would drive by this building — vacant at the time — and tell my wife I could build a great pub there. She reminded me I didn’t have a nickel to my name. With her support, I swiped every credit card we had for the down payment on what became the Alumni Sports Café.
Having worked in the chain restaurant world, I learned what not to do. You’ll never see processed frozen chicken fingers on our tables — our tenders are called tenders because that’s what they are, pounded fresh and hand battered daily. Our seafood is delivered fresh daily, our steak tips hand cut and marinated in our own recipe, and everything is made from scratch. We even shred our own pizza cheese and make our dough daily.
We’ve been committed to that standard for over ten years — a consistent, fresh dining experience. It’s guaranteed.
